So I have 4 bad tomato plants and some zucchini/cucumber/broccoli that is about to expire.  I should have about 10 square yards to till and plant.



What can I get started now and transplant to the garden?  I'm in the mid MO area.  


I was thinking possibly lettuce, and...........

Google your first frost date. That will give you an idea of how many growing days you have left. Then you can look on seed packets and choose something that fits in that time frame. Leaf lettuce for sure.

I'm already on my second crop of broccoli and cabbage. Both of those are cool weather crops, but you might not make it starting them from seed right now. Finding starter plants is probably impossible at this time of year. Peas do well in the cooler weather.
