So my wife has an Eotac field jacket. She loves it. I covet it. Decided to get one, only to find out they went of business and I probably won't get one

I've been looking, and the two main brands I see are Rothco (their vintage field jacket, m-65), and Alpha.

Any recommendations between these two? Quality? Durability? Sizing?

Any info on other good brands would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

They have then on those websites, but they don't actually have any in stock. Doesn't look like they will get more...grumble

In my experience, Rothco is much inferior to Alpha.

Now keep in mind with the above, that although Alpha is/was a gov't contractor, their M-65s intentionally made for the civilian market are not the same as the jackets made for the Mil, and subsequently surplussed.

I--and others-- can tell the difference by handling the fabric, but this comes with experience.

I'd avoid Rothco altogether, and I'd buy a good used Alpha, genuine surplus jacket before I bought a new one of uncertain quality.

Thanks. I will try to find an army surplus near me so I can get my hands on one.

Eotac is defunct, Cerberus bought them out and they went tits-up.
