I'm working on helping a guy in another state set up Fldigi with his IC-7200, and he is having an issue I've never seen before.  I figured you guys may be able to help.

Below is an excerpt from our last email exchange:

the set up is on and off.  Currently, it is off.  the port audio
error is the problem arising each time I hit tune or one of the macros.
The radio keys and when it goes to rx,

the error shows up on the bottom of the screen and rx is done.

now, I set flamp to come up automatically, which could be a problem.

several times an error window has come up :    "The instruction set at Ox008d3eac referenced memory at

0xfffffffc."

a search shows the Oxfffffff with several instruction sets but not this one.  I searched the computer and could not find it.

to answer your Qs;

I can send.....once

radio receives very well

see above error msg

I have gotten it "fixed" several times but the next day it doesn't work.

I sent him this video as instructions on how to set up, and supposedly he did it that way.  I've sent an email back asking what OS he is using (I assume Windows) and if he needs flamp for anything specific or if we can throw that out of the mix.

I'm trying to set up a time to remote in to his desktop and see if I can replicate the error, but work has been busy lately

Any ideas?

He confirmed Windows 7.

I'm thinking driver issue.  I'm gonna have him delete the driver he is using and then install the correct driver.

That is the only thing I can think of.  What is strange is that he can receive just fine.  I've never encountered this issue before.

Any other ideas?

If he can receive then the INPUT card is fine.

If he cannot TX then he has...
-a setup problem in the radio
-a problem connecting fldigi to the proper soundcard
-a conflict/error in how the radio is being told to TX

I am betting he has the soundcard stuff right, and has a setting wrong such that the radio is not getting a PTT signal from fldigi.

ETA...W7 is teh suck.
