Does anyone else see a benifit to splitting the Survival Guides & Fiction forum into two seperate forums? A fiction forum and then one specifically for Guides and Reference material?

Makes sense...BUT things are too thinned out already; like 1% milk!

Agreed on the current situation being "thinned out" comment. I kinda think it would have the benifit of consolidating. The fiction group (which appears healthy) would be able to kick ass and keep things moving, and the survival guide reference section probably wouldn't see a lot of movement. But I dont think it survival guide would need a lot of movement, just a few solid and most likely tacked posts with good information in an easily findable format.

All in all, what i really want is a place to get information easily, and I guess a forum isnt the best setup for something like that.

The SF Forum 'generally' has given me more info that I've actually "used", in the last 5 years, than other part of the internet.

FWIW, I never venture over there 'cause I'm not interested in the Fiction.  Maybe just change the title of the forum and keep the non-fiction topics/questions over here?

WhyTanFox, you are a smarter man than I. Your idea would effect the exact result I was thinking about.

I made the dropped the idea over at the "Site Suggestions" board here.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that suggestion.  In fact, it was discussed at the last change.   Right now guys 195 threads isn't a maze nor bastion of activity.

Keep up the good ideas.

You're right, it isn't a whole lot of threads -- but as I have zero interest in the fiction (which overwhelming dominates that forum), I'd like to see the important instructional stuff brought under this roof.

::shrug::  I'm still fighting the maze that has become of the search & "Active Topics" screen :-/

That's changing as we speak.  The mods now have the ability to keep threads from going in archive.  That will help build up the volume.
