Found a game cam on my land... (Page 2 of 2)

I found one along a deer trail about 20 yards in from my side of the property line a few weeks before deer season. I had the same issue with a tree stand a while back. Both cases I posted a picture of it with a polite comment on a local social media site. They were gone in short order. I have a good idea who they belong to. Sad thing is I would grant permission with a hold harmless agreement if asked. The reason they don't ask is because of a history with fish cops. Nothing super big, but they don't want to put anything in writing. Sometimes it is best to let sleeping dogs lie. |

The he case was centered around a man who either found a StarChase tracker and took it home. I think he found it on the ground but that's irrelevant, it was unmarked and he didn't know what it was so he took it home and put it on a shelf. Next thing he knows he's being arrested and charged with theft of police property and illegal possession of police property. Long story short, the court said he had no way of knowing who owned it and didn't know what it was so no crime was committed. |

I have found tree stands on our property. One was 5' from a No Tresspassing/No Hunting sign. I took the stand down and left it at the base of the tree with a note. After 3 months of the stand still sitting there, I decided it was abandoned and kept it.
