I really like this

$15 is affordable

It works great

when my harddrive crashed a few years ago,  I emailed him and he quickly replied with the product key so I could reinstall it

great service

few weeks ago,  I tried to use [cough] CHIRP on my FT-7800 and it crashed blowing all the memories out of my rig.

G4HFQ and cheap Valley Ent. cables from amazon, are the way to go for yaesu rigs

Wished He had something for the FT1DR, CHIRP isint up on it yet and the Yaesu SW is a little difficult, course I am new to it so it may get easier but I tried to do some .csv imports to it --which it is supposed to do and it does not see the file or recoqnize the format..

I've used the G4FHQ software for over 5 years.  Works great!  I can use the same cable on the FT-1802M, FT-2800M, FT-1900R, and FT-2900R.

I've also used CHIRP to program the Baofeng UV-5R and variants, Alinco DR-135T, as well as the FT-1802M and FT-2800M.

When I bought the G4FHQ software I had a problem at first getting connection to the rig.  I emailed him, and he CALLED ME from the UK and
talked me through selecting the correct Com Port and getting it to connect.  THAT, OM, is customer service!

I'll add my +1 to this thread.  I use his FTBasicMMO software for my FT-897D.  It made it much easier to load up the memories as well as back the rig up.  Also, when a hack was discovered back in 2012 by the CHIRP folks for reprogramming the 60m channel 3 from 5368kHz to 5358.5kHz , he incorporated the hack into FTBasicMMO which was offered to licensed users as a free upgrade.  Yaesu has never offered a fix to FT-897D owners for the now mis-programmed 60m channel.  Not that I use 60m but it was irritating that one of the channels was basically useless and Yaesu refused to address the issue.
