Filled my other 30 gallon water barrel.  That makes a total of 80 gallons.  Ordered a 45 day supply of Mountain House.  That should cover the fiancee and I for 3 weeks, plus the two boxes of assorted canned food I have.  Two 20# propane canisters already filled, plus the three I am filling today, to run the camp stove and the heater.  Throw in the two streamlight rechargables and some candles, fire extinguishers and basic first aid and I think I'll be okay for a month.  Much more than I have had in the past, still nothing compared to others.

If the insurance company calls back, I'll have my renters and auto insurance taken care of as well.

I bought a chainsaw and cut-up two large dead trees this past weekend. Taking tomorrow off to finish chopping that up and stack all the wood.

Busy little beavers...

While a month's worth of preps might not seem like much compared to others on the SF, it puts you way ahead of the average Joe and will probably cover 95% of the SHTF situations you are likely to face.  Good work.

Yea, that's something to remember....If you prep for 90% of the emergencies you are likely to face-usually short term events 3 days, a week etc.......You're 90% ahead of the rest of the population! Sad, but true.

Got the propane tanks in the car.  Picked up a drinking water safe hose (doubtful, probably made in China) from Walmart to make filling and draining the barrels easier.  Dumping a MWC into them gets a little messy.

Just a thought, but how are you planning on recharging these? I would consider buying some good quality leds that take AA lithium batteries. The batteries last for a long time and the run time is awesome. Figure on one really bright led and a couple of really low output  leds for regular work and low observable duties.

I am totally with you on everything else.

Short term power outage only.  I have some candles put away too.  I need to get some LED lanterns and some batteries.  I also have a surefire light if I need lots of bright light quickly.

I was thinking about more long term. Low output leds are worth having around. I really love my surefires but they eat batteries so quick their usefullness is limited to combat in practical terms. I don't plan on much combat when I am laying low!
