Anybody use?  Was thinking of picking one up for Scuba diving, maybe rig it to AR for POV shooting, and record training.  All info appreciated. Thanks

Cool, but gimmicky. What are you really gonna do with a bunch of first person videos of yourself, other than post them on youtube so we can laugh?

The still picture every 2/5/10/30/60 seconds feature is very cool, however, and almost worth the price of admission by itself.

I have a gopro video and I use it for snowmobiling. I have it mounted on my helmet camera. It works well. I was a scuba diver for many years and used UW video housings.  The external lights make all the difference in the world. With out lights your results are pretty limited unless you are shallow and have great visibility...otherwise I still think it would be pretty cool to have such a small uw housing. Mine were beastly....lol

Me and my brother use them snowboarding. They take some hits and keep on filming. Nice quality too. You can buy with confidence.

I would advise getting multiple batteries, charge times are like 8 or 12 hours and it gets inconvenient on weekend trips and such. Also, the batteries tend to not last the advertised time in extremely cold conditions. But that doesn't sound like it would apply to your situation.

Got one a couple months ago and love it. I've used mine diving and it works great. You'll need to get a flat lens for underwater filming. The curved lens makes footage blury and almost B&W underwater. Got my lens on a speargun website for 25$. It's easy to swap em out, a few small screws and your in business. The housing is pretty much bullet proof and can take a beating. If for some reason you break the housing, scratch a lens or need a part, there pretty cheap. Mine seems to charge pretty quick (4hrs) as per instructions. I would recommend getting a second battery though for extended outings.

The LCD takes a little while to scroll through and chose your settings but once you do it a few times you'll commit it to memory. They also sell a LCD back pack screen that clips right to the back of the camera so you can frame your shots. This also makes it easier to scroll through the screen options instead of the two botton method on the front.

There are a ton of tutorials on Youtube to help you through any problems. You'll be happy with it!

Quite a few Jeep guys like them out here in Colo.  They seem to take some abuse from washboard roads and steep (4'+) drop offs.

A lot of the people in my industry use them all of the time.

Enjoy it!

One of my students recently brought his Contour HD camera to a carbine course. It was really interesting, and he got some good video. Would be really useful to demo drills, analyze yourself, and just show off what you do. Not my cup o' tea, but that doesn't make it useless.

I just bought one a month ago. They record at 15Mbs so make sure you get a SD card with that kind of transfer. I think 1080p and battery life give you about 2.5 hrs of video, so a 16 gig card is kinda the perfect match. Bigger is better but for the price I went with a 16 gig at 20Mbs. A LCD screen in kinda a must have. It turns this little guy into a great pocket camera. I like to see how things are framed up as I shoot. :P Go with the HERO if you are interested in 1080p. Good luck.
