I have some leftover 2x10s that I've been thinking of turning into a stackable potato planter.  Do you all think this would work like the tire method?  If you think it would work, would you go with the segements of the same size or decreasing size as you stack (sort of a tier method).  Another issue is digging potatoes as the summer goes.  I'd prefer not to harvest all at once.  I've thought of cutting small "doors" in the sides of the boards to access the potatoes that are on the bottom.  Any ideas/suggestions would be great.

I built mine yesterday.  Gotta go get some peat moss tomorrow, then I'll put the taters in the ground.  We're starting the second group of various seedlings tomorrow.   Will post pics when things start filling in.
