So I'm still relatively new to the fishing scene and I caught this guy today. It was probably 2 pounds and 12 inches long or so. My first thought was a shad but this isn't like any shad I've ever seen. The fins are all wrong. Can't find it in the Kentucky fish guide. It was caught at lake Barkley in Kentucky. Any ideas?

Sheepshead are not freshwater drum. Completely different species. Sheepshead have vertical black stripes ver sharp and elongated dorsal fins and some big ass snaggle teeth. What you have does appear to be a freshwater drum though.

Rock bass are called redeyes. Confused yet? |
