So I ordered a Falcon 2. I have been eyeing a pack this size for a while now. Almost went with the Drago version at Academy because of price but am glad I held out and was able to get this one on closeout.

Now I need advice and input on how/what to pack in it! I am thinking this is going to be a mini go-bag to keep in my truck. Basic essentials to handle mini situations that'd might come up.

A couple vague things I already know will be in there:
medical kit, leatherman, mechanix gloves, flashlight, field notes book, pens, pencils, fixed blade knife, paracord

What am I missing?? Any recommendations on brands??

My family is me, my wife, a 14 month old, and a 3 yr old black lab, we travel quite a bit driving from OK to our ranch in Texas. So you can imagine the situations I might find myself in.

I bought one too. I'm going to use mine as a ghb for my vehicle. Once it comes i'm planning on stocking mine with a poncho, poncho liner, paracord, tent stakes, nalgene with cup, multitool, mora knife, few protein bars, compass, a few bic lighters, fire steel extra pair of socks, fleece jacket, winter hat and gloves, boonie hat and work gloves for summer, a few extra mags for my ccw, and a med kit.

Don't forget to add water and some sort of shelter to your kit. When my kids were little i always had an extra days worth of clothes, diapers, formula incase we went somewhere and forgot something. Probably not as big of a deal down South as it is up North, but Its also nice if you get stranded somewhere in bad weather for a night you still have everything you need.

Water filtration/sterilization of some sort is an absolute MUST-have, IMO.

FiveFiveSix and Zardos, thanks for your replies. Both very good ideas and stuff I had kind of skipped.  I have added a Sawyer mini to the list and will be looking at the Luci Lights

Diapers, food pouches, and an extra outfit for your kid.  I try to keep some of these in my go bag. Obviously, a separate fully stocked diaper bag is ideal, but I still like a couple of diapers and a little food in my pack for my little one.
