Anyone call hogs in?  I'm ordering a Fox Pro caller for coyotes, and they now offer hog sounds.  I was just wondering if anyone actually calls them in, and if so, what calls work?

Soft grunting while dragging your feet thru the woods wont hurt. The times I squealed it may have worked a few times and ran them off dozens.
I was grunting while stalking one time and there was a return grunt 15 yards ahead of me..that was one of my getting charged hunts.
My problem with calls is that it is hard to stay at a consistant with the tones (not sounding plastic)
they wear and get harder to make sound right...One funkie grunt or squeal and you just bought yourself two more hours of waiting.
I bought every one made the night n hale duel direction grunter and a primos squealer was the best.
A ex hunting buddie had the cass creek hog caller or something like that and we never had luck.

Well, I had a first this weekend while down in S. Texas.  I set my foxpro up at my stand because I saw several bobcats during daylight hours crossing.  As soon as it got good and dark I started calling with the baby cottontail sound.  I was helmet mounted with a pvs when I saw a cat walking out.  I grabbed my .308 with the d-760 on top.  When I got my scope on I didn't see the cat but a good size boar walking right to the foxpro.  I put one in his ear when he was about 5 yards from the caller.

How do you get an "EX hunting buddy"? Did he really piss you off so bad that he is not welcome to hunt anymore?

You get an EX hunting buddy cause he is an asshole.  Things like the rules of the lease apply to everyone but him.  That includes the little rules like no one smokes in the bunk house, no using hog traps, police your own trash, no drunk and disorderly at the lease.  Shit like that.  The part about an EX buddy trying to screw your wife because he found out she was screwing another co-worker of her's would just be icing on the cake.

Ya the lease is a place to have fun and get away from it all.  Oh course, you have to be respectful of the landowner and other hunters, but ahole lease managers are hard to swallow.  My cousin runs ours now.  Sometimes it is best to star fresh.  Sounds like that is what you have done.
