Passed my Extra on Saturday, how long does it usually take for FCC to record the update? I am eyeballing a 2x1 that became available 3 days ago and want to get that vanity app in ASAP.

Don't sweat it. All 1x2 and 2x1 are gone the day they become available. Or at least there are multiple people in the drawing for it the first day it becomes available and it is officially assigned three weeks later to one of the people who applied on the first date of availability. It's gone, but others will come up. |

Going to try a few more times and then just go for a sequential 2x2 I think and skip the headaches |

It's not the FCC that takes all that time. It is the CVE (test team leader) completing and submitting the paperwork,
and the VEC (testing organization) submitting to the FCC that takes all the time. I've given tests on Tuesdays, gone over the paperwork on Wednesdays, i's crossed, t's dotted, submitted by email Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, and the new Techs had been issued their call signs by Thursday night or Friday morning. W5YI will accept scans followed by snail mailed paperwork for new Techs, to get them on the air ASAP. For all others, since they already have call signs and can operate using their present call sign, wait for the snail mailed paperwork. Don't blame the FCC, look to the CVE and VEC. |

I think VEC said mine would go out on a Monday, (passed exam on Friday) & the FCC updated the following Monday. QRZ finally updated yesterday.
