Agree. I can't see how anyone can think differently, especially after seeing what happened to the people we abandoned (Iraqis after Gulf I, the Afghanis after the Soviet invasion, Vietnamese in 1975... eieio) Unless the naysayers' goal is simply to make the US look as bad as possible, whatever the cost to the Iraqis? I bet this will be moved to GD. |

When America pulled out of Iraq the anti-war movement didn't end all the screaming in America and claim a time of peace. They had some fun with bombings across the country. So it will happen again, just not so amateurish. I figure the middle east in flames will be used as a excuse to remake the country. Sort of like how it happenned last time. Basically the line will be America has been proved wrong, needs to make changes. Then they try to usher in a socialist utopia and tear down anyone that doesn't fit in. Imagine political correctness on steroids. Plus of course there will be oil rationing. Politcially correct people get the oil ration cars, others have to walk. Just wait till they ration seats on the bus. |

Remember all of those Iraqi voters that went to the polls, under the threat of death and intimidation? Many went to the polls with their families in tow, these people and their families are risking possible death for "just voting," something unheard of in the US. Personally, under these condition I would not endanger my family by bringing them to the polls. Now these people have guts. And when a bomb that went off in a polling station, the people collected the dead, treated the wound, and pick themselves up and went on voting. Many of us in the US don't vote when it rains! They and the USA see a brighter future. |
From who, Iraqis? Then no, I don't. If you mean "reprisals" from al-qaeda my answer is: no more than they are already planning.
As a result of a US pullout? It would take time (year +) but I estimate al-qaeda would be emboldened and would be more successful at recruiting. Perhaps in time there would be a few more attacks than are currently planned. But I can't see my plans changing. If we started seeing weekly homicide bombings a la Jerusalem, then I suppose my plans would change, depending on where they were likely to bomb. |

Listen in this friggin shithole part of the world alot is about face. We lose face every day when we don't lay the smack down. However America has no meat eaters in charge any more, too many frickin' Vegans, or all sheep and no wolves. The wolves we have like the ones I serve with are held down by the sheer mass of the sheep. So with that in mind when we are forced to pull out of this country before the fight is won we will look like even bigger pansies. As such I expect that the number of attacks against US and US intrests will climb. I will tell you this, what we are fighting is a generational war. It is gonna take a generation to change the people. So they appreciate us or respect us. The good leaders are the ones we are just now starting to train. If we can give them time to rise to power this will be a stable place. However as long as they are buried under the corruption that is in place the worse it will be. Say hello to Iran West if we lose. If that happens that mmay lead to a war between Saudi and Iran not good for anyone except Exxon and the ilk. Well then I figure what was tried in Iraq will be tried here. Probably something along the lines of trying to join up with factions already here and divide and conquer. Remeber what they did in Iraq? Blow up a sunni mosque and then the sunni attack the shiite, etc. Well they would try that here. Maybe blow up some catholic churches, big ones. To get people to divide instead of unite they need allies here. So for the catholic example just find someone a tad nuts that thinks the Pope is the root of all evil. Then afterwards find a catholic that hates protestants. Then help some nazis shoot mexicans. Help some illegals aliens chase whites out of a town. |
