I have MANY mixed feelings about the last episode. The show was WAY rushed. Jake should have taken off in that Citation on the nearest taxiway, cause they'd have never let him get to the runway. Since when does an old Citation have such a radar screen (don't think it was a TCAS system)? He'd have been better-off flying at tree-top level in such a slow plane. I also think that some of the townspeople's refusal to shoot at the troops who were waging war on their town was typical liberal BS. On the other hand... I'm just glad there was something on network TV that was worth my time watching for a short time. I've had it with Big Brother, Survivor, Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, CSI Hackensack, etc. What a bunch of total crap. Thankfully I can still watch Axe Men on The History Channel. Guess my little vacation in Jericholand will have to remain a somewhat-fond memory... |

The ASA soldiers were still Americans. During the Civil War CSA soldiers were fighting the US under a different flag but I guarantee you that many people loyal to the United States were still uneasy about killing their fellow Americans. I don't fault them at all for not wanting to shed the blood of fellow Americans. If the day ever came, I know I would be sick at the thought of having to kill American soldiers. |

If anything, I saw their refusal to fire on the soldiers as a rejection of the style of warfare that the Islamists are waging against the United States. If anything, it is a very conservative view. |

Yes that's the place!! Damn I was there last week, and forgot about that place!!! Used to be a good gun shop in there until the owner F*&ked over the employees, but that's another story. Jericho was the best show since sliced bread in my opinion. Damn shame the commie channel CBS cut it  I hope so bad SCI-FI pics this up

| It was very rushed but decent. The only good show on TV. It's been years since I've watched anything on the major TV networks. They at least left it wide open for someone to run with it. I hope it comes back. Whoever brings it back will get me to watch it easily. The 2nd Amendment reference rocked! Anyone who says this is a liberal wacko show has simply not watched it and drinks way to much Bush Bot Kool Aid. |

I must disagree. When Stargate moved to SciFi, the network had no problem paying the freight for SFx. The show carried-on for 7-8 years and led to a spinoff (Stargate Atlantis) that is arguably even more Sfx intensive. Amazing stuff can be done with computers at comparatively low cost. As for the CBS finale, I agree it was too rushed. In a perfect world this would've been a 2 or 3-part string. But the pro-Second Amendment comments were awesome. |
Which kinda concerns me. this is scifi were talking about here. While the stargates and BSG have outstanding special effects, I think everyone here has tried to sit through one of their original movies. |

And so would I. But if said "American soldiers" declared my town and everyone in it the same as AQ, then I'd do what I had to do to try and drive them out. Slowly cutting-off heads with dull knives? No way. But there'd be firefights. Because anyone who'd do what they did to the town I would no longer consider "American" or my ally. In the end, Beck did the right thing. But were such conditions prior to that to exist for long in my town, there most-certainly WOULD be repercussions. It doesn't take long to make enemies when the boot of oppression continues to press down on the necks of decent people who just want the freedom to go about their day. I've lived in a free society for too long to ever be anything but fighting mad if someone were to try and take that away. I don't go looking for trouble... EVER. But if trouble finds me, then we have a problem. I DO LOVE THE GADSDEN FLAG!!! ETA: #7966 and +1 to the comment about "there" being spelled wrong on the petition. Geez... that sure makes the author look like someone to be taken seriously.

Let's talk about season 3. What would they do? Well, Texas has declared war on the AS of America. Jericho is against ASA, New Bern might follow. Fragments of the AS army in Jericho have gone rogue. I see a war coming on! The new season could focus on Jake, Eric, and Hawkins sneaking around the allied states in sort of a guerilla campaign, sabotaging the AS military and spreading the information. Hawkins gets to use his satellite skills to spread the word about the deceit and lies of the AS and tries to get other pockets of resistance built up. The AS government starts to crumble as more and more people hear the truth. Meanwhile, texas has a nuke, but doesn't want to use it. Gray Anderson gets even more Cohones and becomes a rebel leader of sorts, helping to coordinate the reistance in Kansas. New Bern and Jericho ally, and combined with Major Becks forces form a ragtag fighting force to repel the Cheyenne military. So many things they could do in season 3! They could easily do 20 more episodes. |

On Season 3, Consider what not what will happen, but what can no longer happen: Hawkins is outed, there is no longer any mystery about who he is or why he is doing things. He can still be a bad-ass and knows more about the guts of The Plot than anyone else. He can find a role as the Senior Spook of the world's newest nuclear power, Texas. Jake can no longer be the Top Dog of the town. Jericho, and possibly New Bern, are now "friendly" forward bases deep in ASA territory, and at least according to the show, within easy driving distance of the enemy capital. They also have their own resident professional military, represented by Beck's forces. Professioanls will arrive soon and Jake will go back to being Emily's boy toy. The romantic "will-they-or-won't-they" tension between Stanley and Mimi is resolved, they survive to marry and live happily ever after. She will continue to be the sexiest woman (not babe) on the show! The Gray Mayor never was a strong leader. He is smarter now, considering how bad he was perhaps he has the most upside potential of any major character, but he will probably revert to being the drone administrator of a small Kansas farm town. Beck finds out his wife and kid died in the attacks. Now that he said "screw this" to the ASA .gov, he will say the same to Heather, and they will run off to a new life together as the next logical couple. Eric and Mary will get, and stay, drunk and produce all the offspring of the new Green generation. Dale and Skylar are no longer working against the odds. Their remarkable and impressive ingenuity and capitalistic intincts will now seem vicious and uncaring of others. They will move in on the now defunct J&R's assets and start selling them off. If the show runs a few more seasons they can start the next incarnation of Dalemart, and eventually rival J&R for monopolistic ruthlessness. Did I miss anyone? |

Cynical is my nature! Not really, I just have a sarcastic sense of humor. I would have preferred a Season 3 based on the cliffhanger ending we didn't get to see. All of the characters, particulary Hawkins, Jake and yes, even the Gray Mayor, had lots of layers left to explore. The ending we saw rushed over too many things to get it closed out on CBS. As long as the producers kept the same production values, the "feel" of the show and the strong story lines going I could happily watch Jericho for the next 20 years. It was the only reason I turned on the TV. I just think they closed a lot of interesting doors by going to a summary ending. |

Unfortunately, the ASA has LOTS of nuclear weapons. So does Texas. I don't think any of them could use them. Cheyenne, WY has hundreds of nuke silos in the area. So does Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas. I don't think Texas could POSSIBLY defend against a nuclear attack. I do love Texas, and I really like the idea of Texas being rebellious and independent. There is just so much they glossed over and rushed through. Honestly, if the ratings suck for the show, it's because CBS ruined it. Also, I hear lots of people watched Jericho on the net. CBS got advertising revenues for that, but they didn't count it towards the ratings. Dumbasses. |

1. The Voice is still out there and he is intent on destroying J&R regardless the cost of lives. Hawkins is the only one who has dealt with him that could find him and Hawkins has a score to settle. 2. J&R isn't stupid they would have had contingency plans for if Texas sided with the USA. 3. My guess is that J&R already has operatives within Texas and the USA and you can bet they will not wait around to be the first to get hit. They attack first and they'll attack hard while they've got the strength to do it. 4. Jake needs to get back to Jericho and will have to convince Constantine to put aside his differences with Major Beck and Jericho...so there is going to be some serious tension there. 5. Major Beck is going to need to link-up with Texas and the USA. Jake can help coordinate Beck's troops and Special Forces dropped into the region. 6. Major Beck's real value though might be in helping to convince other ASA units to cross over without a shot fired. I can see another season easily unfold without too much of an expansive storyline so that it would be doable for budget purposes. |
The US Navy has a few nukes themselves. So does the USAF (though I would gather they are mostly stored in the West). |

Jake shot The Voice in Cheyenne when they were jacking the ambulance with the bomb. Curious: if The Voice wanted the bomb in Cheyenne to finish J&R and the ASA.gov, what was he doing there? How many of you watched every scene in the finale wondering when the damn bomb was gonna go off? The Beck character has serious potential in any new episodes. His change of heart is for real, not just following the orders of a new commander or government. He in now a True Believer. He will act out of honor and patriotism and fight to the death for the cause, a real force to be reckoned with. It was too bad to see the character worked so shallowly. Hope we see him again real soon... |
I agree, SciFi Channel movies are serious MST3K (R.I.P.) fodder. But I doubt management would take the plunge in bringing Jericho to the network and then slopping the SFx. Look what they did with the Dune movies. It doesn't have to be cheesy. |
Jake shot him, but Jake didn't get a good look at him and hasn't been dealing with the Voice for as long as Hawkins has. The Voice only was shot in the arm and shoulder he did run off. If anyone can bring the man responsible for the Terrorist attacks down its Hawkins. With that kind of individual out there and tied into the ASA Hawkins can't take any risks. He'd have to hunt that sucker down. |
Well lucky for us that US Special Forces and SOCOM are East Coast. That could have made for an awesome show. Have Jake have to guide an elite unit of special ops into ASA territory to take down an ASA nuclear missile sight before it can launch. |
That is never answered in the episodes. One scenario: US Military, as a willing or unknowing part of J&R's plan, launches nuclear response against the "attackers" (this is mentioned in the show). One or more of the warheads are deliberately detonated over the US so the EMP effect will further cripple the survivors and prevent local re-organization, but not damage any more infrastructure. Then J&R/ASA.gov can work unhindered in completing their takeover. |
