Picked up two of these today at Target for the wife and my BoBs. For $6 these are great lights to clip to your backpack strap, around a lanyard with compass and whistle, or as intended on a key chain. They have high and low setting as well as an emergency strobing mode.
Link to light....your local Target has for $6. Inova Key Chain LED |

I recently got the Streamlight Nanolight for $10.00. I'm sure you can find them cheaper online.

Inova Key Chain LED I had one for a while, but was plagued with almost daily instances where it turned on for no reason in my pocket - Made it look like my pants were on fire! The button is just WAY too sensitive to accidental bumps against anything else in your pocket - and once it's bumped, the light continues to stay on. That's why I switched to an original Photon Microlight - It has a much stiffer button, and shuts off immediately after the button is no longer being pressed. |

I now use an ARC AAA premium. Expensive, but probably the last small light you will ever need. |

While I love my arcP as well, I expect the fenix light (much cheaper) is just as reliable arc lights I think both are great choices for keychain and edc lights- 10 lumens is plenty to see, very tough and easy to find AAA batteries. |

I picked up 20 of the mini-LED key chain lights for $9.50 from dealextreme. They're $4.73 for ten of them and fully as bright as the $9 each lights - 22000 mcd each. I give them out as part of a "survival" gift pack. DX has these AWESOME keychain lights that have 10mm diodes on them, 10 for $7.73. They absolutely ROCK, almost like having a proper flashlight. They really throw, and will light trees up from quite a ways away. Unlike regular LEDs that have a soft spot with a lot of spill around it, these have a really tight spot and are about twice as bright. I keep one on my keychain and I've brokered 30 of them at work. everyone who sees them wants to get a pack of them to give away. |

Judging by the user reviews for both lights, the smaller 5MM version that Paul mentioned seems to have considerably better build quality (i.e., much fewer reports of some of the lights in an order being DOA). The 5 MM version doesn't throw as far, but produces more flood. |

Funny, I went from a fenix E01 to the ARC light. I had the Fenix for about 6 weeks when the battery corroded and destroyed the light. I managed to scape the residue out of the body and clean the contacts so a new battery could be put in the light, but it never worked again. |

well, that isnt the lights fault... what brand battery? if it was a duracell, they will replace it for you I know... I used it as an excuse to get the ARC, which was discounted at the time. I do not remember the brand, I think it was energizer. It took a cork screw to get it out. I have never had anything corrode so severely before or since. |

Twisting the head, similar to a mini maglight. |
