I'm a new hunter this year. Never killed or cleaned anything other than fish. Want to go deer hunting this year so I decided to start small. Took a squirrel with a 12 guage Mossy SPS 20" non-choked barrel. 60 foot shot with 6 shot. After it ran along some branches and then dropped 40 feet to the ground it wasn't dead and suffering. I realized the only way to put it out of it's misery was to take a close in head shot which is why there is no head on him in the pics. Head shot at 3 feet put him out of his misery. The hit was only 1 pellet through the abdomen.      These are NOT dinner pics, so don't hit me on no napkin!

I've found the best way to kill a wounded one on the ground is with my boot heel. Doesn't happen that often though. Especially with a 12 ga.
