We don't have very many hogs where we hunt in Hill Country.

This fella came out just before dark and we had not seen the deer we were looking for so I took a shot at him.

This is the first pig I have ever killed. I'm looking forward to getting the breakfast sausage back from the processor.

He weighed 115 lbs before we gutted him.

Shot with DPMS AP4 .308 with Federal 150 grain soft tip.

Congratulations!

It will be your first of many, many hogs you will kill as they multiply exponentially.

And that is a great hog killing machine you have.  Semi auto 308 you can get multiple hogs quickly with a large round.

After you kill a few more you might find yourself wanting to go after hogs more than deer.   (emphasize might).

Yes, we have had a few on our cameras this year so we knew they were starting to come our way.

We didn't see any at all last year. It's crazy how fast they reproduce. At least now we can have some fun before and after deer season.

Very nice, I've been hunting for years but we don't have any where I live, always wanted a hog though.

The hill country really doesn't hold the huge hogs like south and west Texas but there is still a lot of good bacon waiting to be killed. Congrats on a great hog and a new addiction!  Deer hunting will never be the same...

Congrats on the pig.

Some serious sausage can be created from mixing the pork and venison.

Is that a Vortex Crossfire 6x24x50 scope?  I just bought on for $99 on sale and I love it for the value vs dollar price.   I have it on my Romanian PSL.

Yes it is a Crossfire. I got the same deal on it and purchased it not expecting much.

I ended up liking it so much I put it on my primary hunting rifle.

Great scope. Unbelievable price and value.
