It is from the creators of Recoil. Here is the website: http://offgridweb.com/

It is full of useful information and I recommend picking it up. Or at least going and giving it a once over.
Quick picture I took my the first issue.

Any places to purchase on-line for those that may not have access or limited areas for books stores?

I actually bought mine at a Walmart type store. Lemme dig into it and I might be able to find out how you can order online. If not, I'm sure I can send you a copy.

ETA: Looks like the official release date is July 16th, I got mine early apparently. I'd expect on the 16th the OffGrid website will be up and running.

I could find it in Augusta, GA...I just avoid heading into that area  My son is going there this afternoon and I'll have him check around and see if he can find it.

Same publisher that does RECOIL magazine. I have their latest issue here, reading about the POF .308 MG. Sweet looking setup too.

Yup!

Oh, and the "Recoil magazine is Sky Mall for gear queers." comment at the end of the post was hilarious.

Wonder if they plan to have it online (Ipad or tablet like Zinio) as the recoil mag.

Nope!  Not anymore.  The new editor is the winner of the "Top Shot" TV reality show!  Sounds like a great guy and he's felt the effects of gun control first hand so you can be sure he will stand and fight!

I bought it last week when it hit the newstand...and was suitably impressed.  I told my friends who happen to be my co-workers about the magazine and other friends about the magazine.

I am already anxiously waiting the second issue.

I know you can get Recoil through the Newstand ap on the iPad. I just searched and off grid wasn't on there but Zinio might have it.

I forgot to report my find. I went to B&N last week and didn't see it, even tried looking at the B&N app - no dice.

Then I went to toss my coffee cup into the trash when I noticed the New Releases stand and - voila - there it was.

I bought the off grid magazine and let me tell you I was disappointed with it and found it to be a waste of $9.00. Oh sure it was printed on fancy papers with a lot of photos, but all the information in the magazine has been covered many times right here on AR15 and on the survival forum. Oh sure the Survival forum could be better if folks submitted more photos, but it is what is and that is information from many folks not just a few like in the magazine. So take my advice and scan thru the forums on AR15 along with the survival forum and you will be able to gather all the information you will ever need  about living OFF GRID plus you will be $9.00 richer. JMHO.

I bought it at a Publix grocery store outside Atlanta.

Edited to add:

I finally got around to reading it last night and I was NOT impressed.  I will not buy another issue.  It seemed to be 50% infomercials (Advertisements disguised as articles).  The other half was poorly written “articles” (I use that word very loosely), advertisement and a few nuggets of good information buried in the above.

I’ll use the “Gun selection for defense” article as an example of poorly written filler.  It had a two page spread on rifle selection.  It has a nice picture of a lever action rifle, a nice bolt action rifle and an evil black rifle spread over both pages.  The written content was less that 1/3 of one page and had a point -> counterpoint box at the bottom.  That amounted to: Get an EBR -> I could not agree with you more.

Honestly, that could be said about ANY magazine on the shelf today or in the past.

You can find all the information you ever wanted about any subject on any forum at any time.

I like magazines to have info in hand, and the fact that I hate sitting at a computer all day at work and then go home and do the same thing.

Plus, its easier to read the magazine on the shitter than the computer (no poop thread).

There's a shitload of people who don't read ar15.com, much less the SF.  Could be a great conversation piece for friends who are over, something to share with the wife, or a gift.

And sometimes its nice to get info without having to stare at a fucking screen, even if its covers things you already are familiar with.

I will look for it when I wander someplace that might have it.

Something to consider with a magazine like this is you can hand it off easily.  A lot of folks might flip through it when they have time here or there.

But as mentioned, it could take a while to get that amount of info out of reading on this site.

I don't really have any interest in spending 9 bucks for a magazine, but it is something I will keep in mind for some folks who don't like puters but ask questions now and then.

It was a nice first edition due to the various photographs and factoids in the text.  However, I'm curious if they can keep or better yet increase the quality of the content in future issues.

Just got around to reading on it today. Found it at Wallyworld while waiting for the FSA POS in front of me to get her EBT card out and round up her little roaches...
Decent looking mag, but as said before, all the info is here-but they present it well. If you have someone who is NEW to this, I think it could be a good 'kickstarter'.
Good 'shitter' magazine, also.

I saw it at union station in Chicago so I picked it up and a copy of recoil. I like these mags. I have a lot of downtime waiting for my trains and when we get to the end of a run.  I also picked up a copy of zombie nation, it is entertaining to read make me wish some of the people on the train were zombies. I had to stop reading it.

Except for most magazines dont cost 9 bucks. One of my coworkers buys Recoil and now Off Grid and while I enjoy the read the fluff content is very high as is the price. The skymall for gear queers comment is pretty funny because it fits a lot of their customers. My friend was buying two copies of Recoil so he could have a un molested copy for his collection

To give a comparison I have a subscription to SWAT magazine and find the content to fluff ratio much better and think I pay less than 2 dollars a issue.
