https://parkplanning.nps.gov/PadreExoticInvasivePlanning National Park Service is seeking input regarding Invasive Species Control of feral hogs n nilgai. The unwanted hogs n nilgai have migrated from huge ranches that raise them for hunting purposes. The hogs are like alligators with legs....they will eat anything they can get their mouths on. Turkey, Quail, and other ground nesting birds are easy prey for hogs. Unchecked Feral Hogs can grow up to 200 and 400 pounds. The Nilgai are huge and eat the same food sources as deer n javelina. They are accepting suggestions until 11-15-24. Poisons are indiscriminate and scavangers will die after eating a poisoned corpse. Helicopter hunts...too expensive Individual controlled area hunts by responsible adults is the best solution. I would be very glad to be able to hunt hogs this close to home. The National Seashore is 20 miles from Corpus Christi, Texas. The National Park Service has not decided what will be approved. When I asked how long before a decision will be made n announced they said Janurary 2025. There was no mention of fees either way. I have no power to decide what will happen or cost. I won't dignify your rape comment. It's not appropriate in this conversation |

Done. I also recommended the state needs to be using traps like the Pig Brig to remove entire sounders. Hunting alone is not controlling the rapid population growth of hogs BTW, you don’t need a hunting license to hunt hogs on private land in Texas. Still need one to hunt public land. |

This is the National Parks department decision. I am not sure if they will charge a fee. It has not been decided. But, Texas Game folks have public hunts.....WITH ASSORTED FEES. I quit trying to get a public hunt. It was a truely sad waste of time. I would like to think the Federal govt will do better......sigh. I hope |
