Finally!  FRUIT!  in the early spring of 2010 I planted four fruit trees in hope of having a little bit of fruit.... of those four tree... two were apple, 1 reliance peach and 1 early elberta peach.  Shortly after planting the two apple trees started to die...Not sure why... but I cared for them identical to the peach trees.

Either way, the peach trees took off from the get go!  Full sunlght all day long and a decent amount of water seemed to make them pretty happy and now in their third spring.... FRUIT!  actually... a damn lot of fruit!  The Reliance Peach has so much fruit starting on it that I put some stakes in today and tied some of the branches up because they were bending so much.  The Elberta has about half as much fruit and has kept alot more of its leaves.... guessing next year will be its year.  That being said, I know you have to prune these trees and I havnt done a single thing to them since planting.  Seeing as theyre established now, I was wondering how exactly should you prune a peach tree?  I want it to develop nice strong branches that can carry alot of fruit weight rather than breaking.   And second, What other types of fruit trees like similar soils that peaches like?  Im thinking about planting some more trees since these two were a success, but I don't want to have another failure like the apple trees were.

Thanks guys!

Only supposed to trim trees during months woth an "R" in them.  I prefer late fall, octobeRRRRRRR, it gives the tree a bit of time to heal itself before the dead of winter.  Trees look good op, congrats on the delicious fleshy fruit

Good to know!  I wasnt sure when the best time was to trim them.  Any clues on how exactly to trim them?  I dont want to go and mutilate my poor trees and have them never produce again!

You might want to try some other stone fruit varieties if the peaches are doing well.
