If we stayed in Rachel he would have a 2+ hour bus ride EVERY day to Alamo. Rachel is for sale. It taught me good lessons on how to live off the grid and survive with no gas station (although the gas station in Rachel is about to reopen now) and no grocery or hardware close. The lot in Pioche is bordered by BLM on 2 sides....its nothing for miles behind us and one side of us. |

A testimate to the ease of working with these things.  A little paint (yea 2 days of painting really) and we are almost there.  Almost there.  Heres the interior. Note the listeroid enging for my genny. can't wait to get to it!  Here is the door to the "bunker" with its namesake sign I made from an old fallout shelter sign. I call it my "Zombie Shelter" I have more pics if someone wants to see anything more. If I ever come into ""Fuq You Money"", I'll have a few of each... |

I took some quick pics of the back of my container. The wife is just using hers to store stuff. So we moved to a small town last year, the containers play a big roll in our move because we are in a 40' park model travel trailer until our house is built. Besides storage I wanted a place my son and I could get out of the trailer, play some video games, he can set up his little train sets and I could have an office to keep on top of bills and stuff. Living in a trailer everything gets touched and moved, if I leave a paper laying around someone will move it and put it somewhere else....this stops that problem. The boy (8) needs space and to be able to play and set up some stuff...the container is perfect. Everyone we knew said we would be at each other's throats in a week living in a trailer...we've never gotten along better actually. Anyways, we're doing a steel building garage and a house, they are separated by about 600 feet. The garage is going to be a garage and have a bathroom and small kitchen with maybe in the future I can turn it into an AirBNB. Once the garage is up and functional (Sept hopefully) I'll move alot of my stuff out of this container and probably give my son half if not more of it to do whatever he wants with it. I painted the side that gets morning sun white and did a quick job putting rubber white coating on the roof. Ot has helped a ton with keeping the container cool. Before I did that the container would be miserable by 8am...now we can be in it at 2pm and it's warm but not unbearable. I may add a room AC unit later on.

I searched high and low for a Barney Miller late 60s early 70s metal desk...found it and in the perfect shade of that era green too. I put up painted plywood panels so I could finally get my skateboard decks out of boxes they had been in for 10-20 years.
