It's that time of year where I'm no longer burnt out on duck hunting, and wishing I was in my boat with my son and dog with nothing on my mind but birds coming into the spread and who's gonna shoot what. I think last season was my 8th season and it was probably my best season despite what everyone says about how shitty it was on the west coast. Every season by the end of the season I'm tired, spent, and ready for a break but damn am I missing it right now.

You need a piece of property where you can watch the new hatches emerge this time of year.
Really makes you feel good.

We have had a great hatch this year, alot of woodies and mallards.
Goose hatch was very good also.

While not the same as duck hunting,  I do some off season pigeon hunting in fresh cut hay feilds with a layout blind and MOJO/ windsock spread.
Unplugged shotgun and no limits gives the retrievers a workout also.

I really do. I've spent some time at our local "perc ponds" this year and we've got a bunch of baby geese down there. Not the same as ducks but it'll do. Niece and nephew (5&8) were in town last week and they played in my duck boat. With any luck I'll be able to take my nephew out duck hunting at some point.
