Worked ok on RTTY but was a disaster on AMTOR because the RF in the shack affected the timing. Don't know a thing about the Robot gear. I know it is not quite the same problem, but can you still get paper and ribbons for the teletype machines? GL HTH 73, Rob . |

No experience with the 28 or 48, but used an RO 33 as a printer for a TRS-80 model I back in the day. The 33 was an easy one to interface because it used an ASCII code instead of the 5 level baudot. It was just a matter of interrupting the internal 20 ma loop (used a mercury wetted relay) to send the codes. Ran the relay with the cassette out line from the Model I & a small amplifier circuit via a machine code driver routine.

Carriage, carriage, line feed. Anyone else heard that before? I had an old "ticker-type" machine in my RATT Rig where you could just resend a message by refeeding the tape. (I did also have some new fangled  word processor/electric typewriter-like piece of equipment too. The nomenclatures of both escape after 30 years.) I want to get into digital just to try and send RTTY again for old times sake.
