Howdy All, We're going camping in Colorado next week. I recently added a 12V 240 Watt cigarette lighter socket to the bed of my truck. I need an outdoor LED light system that is powered by a cigarette lighter socket, not a battery. Maybe one with a stand of some type? Need to be able to get it before next Friday, the 26th. Thoughts? | My friend uses a separate and dedicated deep cycle trolling battery for camping and tailgating. Keeps it in a milk crate in the bed of his truck and uses plugs like mentioned above or alligator clips for lights, blender, tv etc. It lasts for a long time with today’s low draw electronics. Truck always starts. |

Edit......I just realized that this is a month old post. But the info is solid for anyone reading the post. You can always fire up the truck a few times over your camping trip for like 15-20 minutes at a time, and just top-off the charge on your stuff without any worries. Like once in the morning, once in the evening, should help keep everything, including your truck, charged up. Just verify the A/C and any other accessories (radio/lights) are turned off so everything being charged is getting a full dose. You could also get a small folding portable solar charging system and take advantage of the sun when it's shining to charge stuff. . |
