This looks pretty interesting, it lets you use your gear remotely with just a laptop. And being that the RF is still coming from your home QTH the contacts would still count for the awards |
Interesting. If you want to roll your own and have a shack computer already setup for digital modes with rig control you can just remote in using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (this requires the "pro" version of either XP, Vista, 7 or 8 on the shack computer) and RemAud. You'll also have to open your router firewall to allow both protocols to come through, etc. I've got this all setup and it works great. Not turn-key, but it's a hobby, you know...
