| The wife and I prefer brown rice to white rice is there any reason one kind would store better than the other if put up properly? |
As stated above, however, if you are prepping for the next 6 months to a year, and plan to eat it NOW, pig out and don't worry:) |

We are eating white rice stored in 1991 right now- no problems whatsoever. Always be sure to keep multivitamins and keep them rotated. After a couple of years they start getting spots on them. I've taken them before like this will no ill effects, but I doubt they are as effective. Lowdown3 |

Quoted: Thats what I thought that bags white rice was good for years. I was going to p/u a couple of 50 pound bags of white rice at Costco and the sell by date was less than a year from todays date. Is that just a sell by date or a exparation date?White rice keeps for years 8 to 10, brown rice about half a year. |

I swear on a stack of Bibles that I saw an expiration date on a bottle of Windex and a bottle of rubbing alcohol . That made me loose faith in expiration dates from now on.I've eaten yogurt a month past expiration and noticed no change (but our fridge sometimes freezes veggies in the bottom drawer) Also, I'm working on a box on Minute Rice that expired Dec 2007 and it is perfectly fine. |
