I was at Barnes and Noble tonight and asked about the Nook and how to get files on it for later viewing.. Turns out that it uses a file that converts PDF's, so any .doc you have can be pasted to a PDF and saved then ported over to the Nook. They hold 1500 books, run for 30 hours in Airport (turns off Wifi and bluetooth) mode, and has a nice, crisp screen that looks like paper. The battery is replaceable and costs $30.
I'd have bought one right then and there-the new model with more memory, Wifi, a browser, mp3 player etc. was $199. |

What's the best place to order printed manuals? I have a few that I've purchased at gunshows, but some of these I'd like to have in a nice hard copy bound form - ie: not self-printed. |

Sorry, I thought some people might like enjoy downloading some old radio programming that sorta goes along with what we like to read. Is there no way to convert the format over once its downloaded? Its just a computer file after all, right? |

| After you wet my appetite for some old time radio, one of my my buddys turned me on to this web site... http://www.archive.org/details/oldtimeradio. This place holds a ton of archived audio, not only old time radio. This web site also is designed for downloading, as you don't have to "capture" the audio. The format is mp3, and some entire show collections are already served up in a zipped archived download file. The day I found this, along with FireFox and the DownloadThemAll plugin, I got about 48 GB of radio shows to keep and listen to at my leisure. HaHa. There are some audio books, too, but some of the speakers were kinda lame. Thanks for sparking my interest. This is cool. |
