I have been wanting to add a game cam of some type to my personal security equipment for quite awhile.

I have been working security on oil exploration sites in South Texas for the last 5 years.  Two recent thefts have prompted me to go ahead and move on the purchase of some sort of game camera.  I have no knowledge of this equipment at all.

Edit to add -  I do not need video or sound.

I would appreciate some recommendations based on first hand use.

Thanks

No first hand experience but get one with solar panel charging capability since you'll be gone for extended periods of time.

Nope.  just need to know who is sneakin' around the property.  I don't think video or sound -for the additional price- is necessary.

Browning Strike Force BTC-5 cameras.
I've had three at the ranch for a couple years, just bought 2 more.
pretty good night time pics (with some decent IR range), real good day time pics, runs on inexpensive AA, will take several thousand pictures on a set of batteries, pretty accurate trigger, pretty fast trigger.
