While shopping a Kroger's tonight, I ran across something in which you may be interested.

I carry a sewing kit in my BOB.  It has a tube that contains straight pins and regular sized needles.  With my eyesight, I just about need a magnifying glass to thread one of those needles.  While looking at things I saw this rack with sewing gear and there on the rack was a package of 12 Large Eye Needles, sizes 18 to 22 made by Singer.  I thought WOW you can see to tread them.  I imagined what it would be like to be cold and wet trying to repair something with dental floss - you could thread them.

Then I discovered a package of 7 Heavy Duty Hand Needles, also by Singer, with sizes ranging from very small to small, medium, large and huge with two curved needles.  Also with big eyes.  (Man, I'm a sucker for big eyes.)  At $1.89 each - had to have them both.

The packages are a little smaller than a playing card and trimming off the excess cardboard packaging will fit nicely in my kit.

Thought you would like to know.

The Heavy Duty Hand Needles pack is one of my favorite $1 items (local dollar store stocks them).  Incredibly handy.
