I think a BOV can be considered a main peice of gear in a SHTF situation. So lets see yours. Here is my Daily Driver/B.O.V.

Thats what Im talkin bout I like the Jack on the front Im gunna have to get one of those. Also The shell on the back you have your own good shelter there if you can fit in it with all your gear Come one guys dont be bashful It doesnt have to be a designated BOV just what the hell your gunna bug out in. |

 2005 Chevy 2500 HD, Quad Cab, 4x4, 6.0 gas, auto, 4 w/disc, R locker, tow package, 4.11's, 31" all terrains, mildly hotrodded w/exhaust, AEM intake, computer remap. IR R back up camera. Have a winch, still have to build the bumpers. Have a goodly supply of gear behind/under rear seat including my hi-lift w/accessories. Have a crappy old camper shell that'll fit the back and can be put on it about 20 min if needed, and a 16' enclosed trailer to pull behind it. IMHO it's a great truck, and very "stealth" with no blatant camo or flat black paintjob (although one could be tossed on if the need ever arised, but I don't think it will)

just got this!! wanted the 4 door wrangler but got a better deal on this.. my old BOV was a pontiac solstice  when I was just flooded not to long ago I could not pull the solstice out of the garage do to deep water...not a problem anymore now I just need to add a few things (roof basket, lights, and brush guard) love Aim4MyHead's setup!!! |

I put the OME springs on the front of my Double Cab, to make it sit level. Now, a few years later, the front sits slightly higher than the rear. Would you do the OME rear springs again? Oh yeah, here's my rig. Recently semi-retired at 140K.

rear tacoma springs wear quickly -- the OEM ones will get sacked out and into funny inverted arch shapes in short order (75K miles) without too much stress on them. i recommend replacement deaver packs for the back. they will support a heftier load, restore the stance of your taco, and will last far longer than the OEM spring setup will. as for OME, their fronts have a rep for sagging after a couple of years -- doesn't sound like that's a problem on your truck. my 2002 taco (pictured prior in this thread) has the deaver 3 leaf AAL's at the back, and donahoe racing coilovers on the front. with about 2.5" lift dialed into the front, the truck sits level to a little nose down. keep in mind i have a 100lb ARB hanging off the front end. you could do the deaver 3 leaf AAL (link 1, or link 2, deaver makes this setup for Wheelers Offroad) and see how that works for you. while AAL is certainly not optimum for true rock crawling, for DD and typical offroad uses it is a good approach. you can install the AAL kit on the rear in about 3 hours with no special effort. ar-jedi |

I just saw one of those involved in a two vehicle accident last Sunday. A car had pulled out in front of the Toyota and lost. From what I could tell (I am not a mechanic) the FJ probably could have driven home with no issues. It was a lower speed crash, but still made me think twice about this as a BOV for myself in the future. If they only had a diesel engine in it... Bigfeet |

Backup BOV is a '06 Jeep Liberty Common Rail Diesel. Stock, for the moment. The Wrangler is usually at the house, it's retired from DD duty. I drive my '96 Nissan to work most days. |

Nicenice - got a couple of those over here as well, whats the specs ?? I have a 2" lift on one and one thats original.. But its a matter of time before theres some changes made.. Both are daily drivers.. |

well it is pretty shitty but it is better than walking but i (for now) have a daily driver/BOV 1990 chevy S-10 blaser 4X4 but i plan on getting a older dodge ram with a 24 valve diesel in 4X4 sorry no pics the dital camera is busted |
Nice Rover, I had a RRC I sold in January. I owned it for years and modded it with 33" BFG's, 12000lb Winch ARB bumper, 4.7 gears, ect, ect.......I just got tired of here electrical gremlins though. Now I have a 1-ton diesel CUCV with 38 swampers and a 15,000lb winch
