| I was just reading some threads here and the question popped into my head. You see state specific firearm forums but why aren't there state specific preparedness forums? Seems like it would be a decent way to network with local people (depending on how close in the state you live to them). |

Several reasons:
Guns are more mainstream and more common than preparedness. No one wants to be known as the crazy survivalist dude to everyone who knows they are a member at that site. Many organizations and govt (local state fed) have limited info on their sites and this meets what most people percieve as their need for preparedness info Many non-survival oriented websites have survival oriented areas like here and say homesteading today Money. A website with both useful infotmation and good user interface is not cheap. A state survival specific website would have a lot of competition Finally, OPSEC. |

HAHAHA LMAO LAMO.. people ...network,,becuase of a state specific forum  Man i could post 3 months in advance in HERE about a basic meet up at a BBQ joint to talk/network... and maybe 3 would show. FWIW when i host my hikes/campouts, i post them on several forums.Just to reach out to others in the AO who are like minded, But for the most part, many are- 1-to lazy 2- to fat and lazy 3-to old and lazy 4- young and lazy 5- see #1 and the dont show up. There are folks that live 10 minutes from some major campouts/greets down here......they still dont show...but sure enough they wanna complain about not knowing any like minded folks in thier AO! just the way it works! ohh on OPSEC you get to a point where the state you live in has no bearing on it. Hell i'd even give you a region of the state. its what else you give up when talking to folks or posting that shoots your own foot  |
