Just started today and I snagged them on 30m through an intense pile-up.  I'm not in the log and there was someone tuning up right on my sending freq, so even though he was sending my call in the clear and I thought we had a completed QSO, something got messed up and I'm not in the log.  Still at zero contacts with them.

They had a great signal so this should be fun through the 16th!

The Italian Dxpedition team is doing this.

Well, I have a 15m CONFIRMED contact with them tonight.

The TT8TT log is online real-time.

There are also three stations in Niger running right now, and I just worked 5U5U on 20m RTTY.

I'm off work all next week and plan to work lots of DX along with getting real work done around the house, like new siding on the garage.

20121006 0430 UTC update - 30 meter vengeance is mine!

They seem to operate the same too.  I've been chasing them on 20 and 40 last night and today.  Their signal is great, there are lots of people calling them and they're working them, and they just decide to change bands!  Having a hell of a time because they go elsewhere right when it's best for me to work them!

Been out of town all weekend and worked late today.  Too tired to DX.  I need to get off my ass tomorrow night and gett'er done.

Typical European Dxpedition. They favor Europe, but don't hang in there long enough to work the US when propagation is good.

This is sure a tough one for me.

Very hard to copy here lately, and when they do come through strong, the pile-up is too much to get through, or they only want west coast, etc.  For example, perfect copy tonight on 20 CW during my grey line, huge pile-up, then faded out real fast afterwards.  Real short windows of good propagation on 20 and 40 most evenings.  At least they're not changing bands in the middle of USA propagation as much lately.

Most of the contacts I did make I owe to the Flex.  I saw them work someone and called on that freq right after to get them next.  That's not working for me so far on 20 or 40 CW though, too many strong stations burying me.  I can watch them work three stations on the exact frequency that I'm calling on.

I cannot hear them at all on 17 or 12.  For some reason I have a high noise level on those bands.

Still gonna keep trying, but this is what I have so far:

See, all I needed was a little post to tilt things in my favor!    Right above the noise level into my lowly inverted-v on 40 meters!

They'll be another one that got away.

I only heard them once and the opening was short. Tried like hell but couldn't break the pileup.

Then I had to leave town for work. Eh, still have over 200 new ones out there still to catch.

Thanks to Derek45 for being my DX spotter, I worked TT8TT just after he did on 15m phone.

I think this is over for me unless they come on 20 CW in a few minutes.

Lots more coming up!

3B9SP started tonight.  No copy here on 17 but weak and 50% readable on 30 and 40 meters.  Big pile-up of course.

10,410 miles short path from my QTH.
