Yes and no. Trying to download software is turning out to be a major stressor. I never know which version I need to use, so I wind up downloading all of them, uninstalling the ones I can figure out how to, and then having a computer full of useless programs that I can't use. The 21st Century is an unfriendly place for me. Quoted:

The 21st Century is an unfriendly place for me. Just download the last stable (non beta) version. Should work just fine for any UV5R model. Otherwise it would sound like you need to find someone in your area who can give you some help and instruction. |

Go here:
http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/LATEST/ And download ONLY Installer dot exe. As per this thread http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_22/664274_Baofeng_UV_5R_information.html make sure you have the correct driver for your cable. When you plug in the cable look in the computer's Device Manager and make note of which Com Port it installed to. Unplug and replug the cable several times to make sure. When you plug in the cable from computer to UV-5R make sure you select the correct Com Port. |

Where you located? BikerScout Sunny AZ Phoenix. Seems like everything downloaded, but when I try to open it, all I get is a bunch of folders, doesn't seem right. It's probably something very simple, but my computer abilities are pretty basic. Maybe try again later this week. |
