Book sense and a functional practical understanding of an issue are, well... you know...

For someone who has not been hands on, or rather 'ears on' with enough radios to have a real functional understanding between the differences in dynamic range, how is one to make an informed interpretation of this page. ??

Looking at the K3 and the Ten Tec Eagle, both of which appear to rank well...  but..

I guess I need to add you guys' input  to my functional book sense understanding of the issue

Random thoughts, related and not so related remarks welcome...

FYI the Kenwood TS-590s might also be one to consider. The overshoot flap is a non-issue and the RX is out of this superb  I don't believe that any of the top 5 radios are all that far apart.....in other words for all practical purpose they are great receivers. How it receives in a crowded band would be a better comparison to consider, as your really splitting hairs as far as raw receive performance.

Sherwood Engineering is a good place to review the top radios. Sherwood Link

Thanks K9B... that really is my issue and what has me on the hunt...

The ability to handle stong adjacent signals just isn't there with my current radio...

Working a contest, with a crouded band makes this issue very apparent, and problematic.....

Hence my need to expand my understanding, before I lay out the cash....
