I have Chirp running to program the Baofeng UV-5ra, the FT60r and am going to use it on the TMV71a. Is ther e a simple way to use one file to populate all three brands of radios with the same info?

I realize I can cut and paste one line at a time, but would like to move all 40 lines at once.

if'n I remember right, I copy/pasted the entire 'thing' and tossed it into the other radio.  Highlight all info you wish to copy then go to new radio and paste into the first box.....maybe?

export your config file to a chirp file.  Then you can import that chirp file to the new radio type.

You can also select multiple rows for copy/paste.

I've got 2 types of HT plus my mobile all on one chirp file.  The mobile (anytone) does air band, but I keep all that in the 200+ memories and my HTs don't do that many slots.

I assume you have one radio set up the way you want it.  Call this Radio A

You have two radios, Radio B and Radio C, you wish to set up similarly to Radio A.

Download from Radio A, and save to a file... such as "Radio A 5-23-14.img".

Download from Radio B, save to a file, name it Radio B Template 5-23-14.img.

Save it again and name it Radio B 5-23-14.img.

Download from Radio C, save to a file, name it Radio C Template 5-23-14.img.

Save it again and name it Radio B 5-23-14.img.

The two Template files will be saved for use to restore the radio if something goes wrong in programming.

Now open Radio A 5-23-14.img, Radio B 5-23-14.img, and Radio C 5-23-14.img.

They will open in three separate tabs.

At the top of each page of frequencies/names, set each one to show all of the channels, not just the first 25.

Now, on the Radio A tab, click to highlight/select on the first line you wish to copy.

Scroll down to the last line you wish to highlight/select.  While holding the Shift key, click on that line.  That should highlight/select all of the lines.

Press Ctrl + C (copy command)  --- or use the copy function in the menu.

Now click on the Radio B tab, click to select the first line.  Do not click on any others, just the first line, and paste with Ctrl + V (paste command), or use the paste function in the menu.

Repeat for the Radio C tab.  You already have those channels in clipboard, just click on the top line, and paste.

Now go through the other settings tabs for each radio and make sure everything is set up as you wish.

Once the Radio B and Radio C are set up the way you wish, save those files.

Now upload each file to its associated radio.

I use the copy/paste method for memory channels.

Open original file.

Read from "empty" radio to create a new tab.

Copy all from original.

Select first row and paste into new radio.

TA DA.

Save stuff.

If you do it just right you can copy and paste the whole thing.
Remember the v71 is instant programming, no upload necessary after you paste it.
Just down load the v71 info first, then overwrite it with a paste.

I was thinking export the frequencies to a CSV file.

Then for each radio import the CSV file.

That's how my friend and I programed out UV-82s using one PC.

This is the correct way to do it according to CHIRP.
