Can/should the VX-6 be operated in RX mode while connected to the AC charger? In TX mode?

Can/should the VX-6 be operated in RX mode while connected to the cigarette plug charger? In TX mode?

Can/should the VX-6 be operated in RX mode while connected directly to a 12V battery through the power cord? In TX mode?

Thanks.

RX yes, TX no.  the OEM-supplied AC charger does not provide sufficient output current for TX.  that said, you can build/buy an AC input "wall-wart" that does provide enough current.  the VX6R manual says you need ~2A at 12Vdc for proper TX operation.

Thanks

Am I correct to assume that whatever external power is not being used for operation of the VX-6 is charging the internal battery?
