Just put in my preferences on the FCC ULS website and paid my $15.00 to Uncle Sam.
Will I be getting a new license in the mail with the granted vanity call on it? |

As long as there is not a competition (more than one person applying for the call sign) your application with be processed in about 18 days. Once it shows in ULS, that same day the license is printed and you should receive it in the mail shortly thereafter. |

It's a 1X3 callsign, and I picked three that I liked from the ones available at radioQTH.net after double checking them on the ULS. I just can't get the sequential one I was issued to roll off my tongue!

| I've been watching the 1x2s for the last month or so and the competition is fierce. I knocked out general and extra this week, in part so I could take a stab at getting a very short call. I'll apply for the one I'm eyeing on the first day it's available, but I'll expect to get a 2x1 instead. |

I found that 1x2 calls usually had about 20 people applying versus average of five people applying for 2x1. I ended up getting a nice 2x1 a few months ago. |

I wish I could have gotten in the pileup for K4UF (Go Gators!) a few weeks ago, but I was too slow. I'm hoping K4FU has my name on it on the 11/15
