in the last month I have sold my Avalanche, my Tahoe, and my camper and completely swapped out my camping set up
went to FL and got a 2006 duramax dually 
then the next week picked up a very nice 1994 dutchman! 
and if it ever get nice out here (snowed again yesterday and a glacier destroyed several homes) the family and I will actually get out camping!

Have to give some good words towards my Sportz truck tent. It rained almost the entire camping trip over the weekend. Sometimes quite hard, as it woke me up during a downpour about 3am.
Didn't have a drop in the tent

While not as epic as most of the posts, I did a weekend trip with my two oldest sons this past weekend. More of a car camping trip with some trail and hiking mixed in. Was at a aep camp site near Caldwell Ohio right off the buckeye trail.
Also got to try out my new yukon outfitters hammock. Very comfy fought with the kids over it all weekend. 
They also learned how much "fun" it is to gather and cut your own fire wood from the area. LOL

About 10yrs ago in the Cohutta wilderness in N Ga. I'm on right. 
Snowshoed in all nght, and made camp at 3am ON the Blue Ridge Parkway, on top of about 5' of snow. Note the trees that came down that night, slamming across the road beyond our 2 tents.

Hiking in toward the Indian Peaks wilderness early May in the Rockies. I'm 2nd from right. 7 days, mostly above treeline. 
2nd night was open air bivy at 10,200'. 
My Intregal Designs singlewall tent the first camp. 
3rd and 4th nights were here at 11,600'. Storms came thru dozens of times each day. 
Fire? We don't need no stinking fire. Plus its illegal. And a PIA. Also makes huge impact in an otherwise pristine wilderness. 
During a summit day trip from camp at 13,000. 
Glissading down the mtn. You use your ice axe as a brake. 
Me at the other end coming to a stop. Its a blast. 
Solo like here near the house in the Kilmer wilderness area. It was 4* degrees right here. Going in at 5900'. 
All from the same trip. 
Made camp up here on an exposed wind sweeped bald.

About a month ago in the Middlerpong wilderness in western NC, at aprox 6000'. I was out on a solo trip when I hooked up with some buds a few days later.

This weekend past my sons Boy Scout Troop climbed Mt Chococura in the White Mountain Nat'l Forest. We weren't able to summit due to a large ice flow about a half mile from the peak. Most of the boys were on their first Troop campout as Boy Scouts (we had 17 boys cross over this year). None of them complained, not once. We were rained on, sleeted upon, and snowed on. Awesome trip! Sunday some of us went up to a fire tower overlooking Tamworth, NH         |

Needed to cross post some of these into the Pic thread....Trip to the Yellow Stone Region at the beginning of August...
Teton National Forest.. 
Overlooking the camping area and out towards Green River (I think that was the name). Skeeters were pretty bad.

Still over a 100 miles away from Yellowstone and we stopped at this stream leaving the forest. It's a volcanic stream coming out of a hot spring. The amount of volcanic activity amazed me.

Coastal trail, Lake Superior Provincial Park 2014:
Start at Gargantua Bay: 
Ice took the bridge out on the way to Warp Bay. We made it across the rocks successfully on the way there. I got a soaker on the way back.
Campsite at Warp Bay. (The pic is a little grainy because the pic was taken when it was much darker than it appears.) 
It was an out and back trip so we did a day hike from Warp Bay to Chalfant Cove. I carried the pack with lunch, rain gear, and emergency items. Everyone else traveled light.
A sailboat took refuge in Indian Harbor: 
The trip was cold and rainy but still better than a day at work.
Problem with being the guy with the camera is you never make it into any of the pictures. Here's one to prove I was there:
