I got ahold of some buckets from my weekend job.  They are iceing buckets - food grade with a seal.  6 are 18 pound buckets looks like roughly 2 gallons and the 7th is about twice the size.

Here is what I am thinking: I can put some rice, beans, canned vegies and canned meat, and evaporate milk in each and have roughly a week of food for the wife and I in each bucket.

The large bucket can be for flower/sugar...

I also thought about putting one box of ammo for each gun I have in one so we could grab that and hit the road if need be.  That way whatever guns come with us we can feed them at least a bit.

What say you?

I say good for you.  I get mine from Ingles and Publix (grocery stores).  Depending on the size I put everything from beans and rice to nails and rope.
