hey guys im having trouble with some feral cats. the only two weapons of choice right now are a .177 rifle and a .177 Co2 pellet pistol. what can i do to lure them close enough for a 20- 30yd shot.

Leave a can of tuna at your "bait site" around the time you want to shoot them each day, after a few  days you should be able to get in shooting position and take care of your problems.

Live trap.  Can of tuna or cat food for bait.  Now you have a shot well within the effective range of your pellet gun.  Problem solved.

Are you having any problems with mice?

Get rid of the cats, and you might.

What problem are you having with them?

Screwing on the front porch would be my guess....That's what they do around here to wake me up at 4 AM.

Me and my buddies use to hunt a dumpster at the local Pizza Hut, we used anchovies from Pizza Hut, and one of my buddies called them in (rang the dinnner bell) It actually worked, we have video proof.

tuna + antifreeze = dead cats?

i dont have any problems with mice. my neighbor shoots them in his yard or his dogs get em. i dont poison animals when they eat the tuna w/antifreeze they can die anywhere and i dont want that. other animals might try to eat the carcasses and then it will spread. the problem with the cats is they go in my trash and throw it all over the yard. they also go up to my back door(sliding glass door)and try to fight my cats.

The feral cats that I shoot around my house I call with lip squeaks or - get this - I just say "here kitty kitty" and meow a lot. They come in, they go down. Works every time.

I started with a .177 pneumatic airgun, but found that not all head shots were fatal, so I went to a classic: .22 CB shorts. Same report, more killing power.

what ive done before is get my cat to a back window and open it. it has the screen on it so she cant come out. ill sit on the back porch and not move. my cat likes me so much she will cry until i come in that gets the kittys to come out runnin.

i got three cats and two dogs a rotty and pit/catahoula
when the cats come around looking for my cats i simply just bring my cats in and release the dogs they just chase them off then maybe a few days later they return

I used to have a few feral cats around my house too. Live traps with cat food, and a gun on me at all times got rid of them. I am not limited to a pellet gun though.
