just a fyi, tried a millenium blueberry food bar 400 calorie, have to say not to thrilled with it. seemed super dry and just tasted very flat with not much flavoring, you can live on it if you needed to, but have to say not a favorite in my book.

I like the coconut and vanilla flavored ones.

They are what they are.
They are SOS lifeboat rations in a smaller bar.
They are all the same, with some flavoring added.

They are dry, but not thirst provoking.

Yep, what wshbrngr said. They are what they are. They are great mobile foods and give you some energy and fill the stomach in a pinch, but they are not exactly tasty or desirable... It's not like a candy bar. But they are edible, especially if you are hungry - THEN they taste like candy bars (my kid loves them...)

Their saving grace is that they are shelf-stable and can withstand extreme temps. They are ideal for leaving in a vehicle during hot summer months. Very few other types of foods can withstand those environments.

They are great foods for GHBs - it's hard to find anything better for that application. They are useful for hiking or BOBs, but there are better options for those uses. For anything else... No.

They have a specific application. Understand that and use them within that context.

They aren't bad for what they are....I keep them in my hiking-biking pack....I like the blueberry ones but the flavor is subtle and texture is like the Datrex bars. The 400 calories are worth the weight.

and for the price of about $1.30 a pretty good value
