I am in WI and I put my plants outside this morning for sunshine. I grew them fron seed. Now I go out and almost all of them are wilted and dumped over? What happened?

most likely candidates:
- water.  Are they in small pots, or cell trays, or ??  Those will dry out VERY quickly, especially if there's a breeze.
- sun scalded.  Is this the first time they've been out?  If so, did you put them in direct sun?  They need to gradually acclimate to full sun, a few days outdoors but in the shade first, a few hours of sun next, etc. up until they can take full sun.

I watered the piss out of them to see if they were just dry. I lost about half my crop. Sucks man. I guess live and learn.

Don't give up on 'em too soon.  I've seen tomatoes recover from pretty severe wilting before.

ETA: to be fair, I've killed off a fair number of 'em too.

they will come back. Happened to mine a week ago when I started hardening mine. was a cool day cloudy. Hell one of mine was slumped all the way over. Water them with some warm water they should come back.

Bingo.  Don't dump 'em, take them out of the sun and wait.  They should perk back.  If/when they do, gradually introduce them back into sun.  You can do it by putting them in the shade first, then giving them more and more sun each day.

definitely give them a chance but just remember to much water is as bad as not enough sun.  it will cause disease ect.  if they are in pots you  need to move them to the actual dirt asap give em a bit of water and wait to see what happens. the smaller pots dry out quick and don't hold enough nutrients to keep the plant going.  I had the same problem with some of my lettuce but once they got in the ground everything was all good again.

Not a damn one recovered. I replanted. I am thinking this year salsa is going to be slim.
