Hey Guys-
My father was a long time precision rifle shooter, everything from 22-250 to 6mm BR. He passed away two years ago, I was cleaning up in his gun room last night and stumbled across a 40X action in a non descript box in the box of a drawer. Much to my surprise my mom knew about it, but not where it was. She assumed it had been locked away in the safe and I knew about it. She said his plan was to finally build a dream rifle out of it. This may seem like such a dumb question to some, but without a barrel I have no way to identify the caliber of the previous rifle. How can you tell 40x rimfire actions from 40x centerfire actions? The plan is to determine the specs of the receiver, find a good smith, get some good advice and build a very high quality rifle for myself sort of as a remembrance of my dad. Anything you guys could give me to go on would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
