My gunsmith called me up this morning to ask what neck size reamer for a new build. This is a bench rest, heavy barrel bolt gun and I was thinking .292 for a very lightly turned neck.
The problem is, he only has a .294 and .290 reamer. I told him .290 and now I'm wondering how is the brass life with the neck turned down to .287ish? (wall thickness in the .011" range)
My thought was, I can always ream up but its about $650 to ream down. (new barrel/labor)
Anyone with some experience with turned neck 6.5X47's that could chime in?
Thanks.
