Does any barrel work need to be done to get a 5/8x24” Dead Air Muzzle brake to fit?

Nope, you just have to time it with the included shims that come with the brake.

Will do. Just got scope rings in this weekend. Realized I lost my scope levels in the move. Tried to use the leveling tool I have (some piece of metal cut into triangles), but the scope sits too low. I bought a cheap leveling kit and it’s en route. Should have it by Wed. Borrowed a lead sled for zeroing, because one shot I took aiming  down the barrel into the berm wasn’t nearly as vigorous amount of recoil as I had expected.

Ditch the lead sled. Use a bipod and read bag.

Those really suck for mounting and leveling a scope. Maybe I won’t need lead sled for zero, but I’ll figure it out this weekend…

Shoots great. (You replied to my GD thread about shooting steel at 500).

Muzzle break (suppressor mount) should arrive this week.

Yup, I’ve got one as well. It’s a pretty heavy can, going to probably drop it an inch or two on that barrel. Didn’t have a major effect on accuracy but it does shift POI every time you take it off and put it back on. Make sure you check it periodically as it will loosen with magnum cartridges. And make sure you have a .30 cal end cap before you send one!!

I’m 87% sure it is the 30 cal endcap but I’ll double check. Appreciate the reminder

Is the POI shift repeatable? That’s all I worry about.

For hunting purposes or plinking at a few hundred yards it’s fine…  precision stuff, nope, it shifted every time. It’s really bad on my 6ARC gas gun for some reason.

Thats why god made TBAC.

Thank you, if I ever get into true precision stuff I’ll keep that in mind.

ETA: direct thread?

Just snagged a Magpul QD Swivel Bipod off the EE. Is it cheap? Yes. Am I cheap? Indubitably.

Thank you for the info in this thread. I was able to easily time the brake. Weather hasn’t permitted shooting it with the can on it yet.

Hoping this week.

Oh thats interesting we have a sandman l and its repeatable every time at 100&200 haven’t shot it at distance. Makes no difference in group size either
Just a 1.5” drop straight down at 100
