Ok,
So I'm looking hard at a Criterion barrel for my Aero build. However, I was curious....what's the difference between the M118 chamber in the Criterion hybrid barrel vs. the .308 Hybrid Match chamber of the Fulton Armory/Criterion barrel? Is one better than the other? |
| M118 ammo has gone through several changes since it was originally developed for the M14. The modern version uses the 175 SMK bullet and admittedly, I'm guessing this chamber is specific for that bullet. A .308 "hybrid match" chamber may be designed to accommodate several different bullet designs. That would be my guess, anyway. |

First, I had Fulton Armory Criterion M110 barrel. Sold it for being to heavy for barricade/run & gun.
Shot great 175 SMK over 44gr Accurate 4064 FC 308 brass my load, 2500fps. I call Criterion to ask them what the diff of my old barrel & 18" Hybird. There is no diff 4land/groove, M110 chamber. Only thing is the gas tube length, Fulton Armory M110 Criterion .325 longer then 18"Hybird. The 18" Hybird will use the stander AR-15 rifle gas tube. |

Thanks. How would you all compare Lothar Walther barrels to the Criterion? I have both. I have the Lothar Wather barrel 20" 223 Wylie chamber with matches bolt. Sub 3/4" 5 shot groups my load 23.6 Ramshot TAC, 75 or 77gr match, WCC Brass, CCI 400. How my Criterion shots is stated above. If you order from Criterion the will head space a Fulton Armory bolt to the barrel for $109.00. Both Lothar & Criterion will be about the $460.00 with bolt. I give the edge to Criterion barrel 4 lands&grove, less drag on bullet. |
