| Anyone know of an affordable but reliable and easy to use digital scale? |

No such thing. Inexpensive ones tend to creep, float or have wider slop than I'm willing to deal with. Some expensive ones just irritate me. My Dillon D-Terminator is a bit on the touchy side with regard to things like air currents and stray EM signals but if you do everything right it's very accurate and reliable if a bit pricey & fidgety. |

Anyone know of an affordable but reliable and easy to use digital scale? Scales priced under ~$500 use a strain gauge which is sensitive to many types of transmitted interference . . . wireless phones, cell phones, WiFi, fluorescent lights, some AV equipment, microwaves . . . and so on. Internal programming to stop fluttering, hold zero etc often build in cumulative errors over time. Having said that, my own experience with a GemPro 250 showed me it might be workable in a transmission free home . . . if you were willing to accept that it would likely not detect one more kernel of powder dropped into the pan. Tapping the pan would give it the needed second chance to get to the correct weight. Frequent uses of checkweights and re-calibration can keep weights honest. Note that any scale sensitive to 0.02gr has to react to even extremely light "breezes". An HVAC vented air current you don't even notice . . . your breath . . . the heat from an incandescent lamp causing a rising air current that you disturb with your hand . . . all can cause the scale to sense a different "zero" or flutter. |
| Have used a gempro 250 for almost 2 years. Its allot better than those pocket scales that come with reloading kits. So sensitive that if a mouse farts in the next room, the gempro will shift. If our not wiling to spend allot of money, the gempro will work for you. |
