Not sure I understand.  What is a foregrip and what does it do?

I have my Mossberg MVP 5.56 in a MDT LSS chassis and my Remington 700 Tactical .308. On the Mossberg, I used the MDT 6.5" picatinny rail and the Fortis Shift Short Angled Grip.

Pic of my Mossberg bellow. The grip works well with the LSS and gives my hand a little extra real estate to hold on to. And keeps the fingers off the barrel. The new Seekins angled grip looks like it would be a good fit on the LSS too. The MDT 6.5" rail is a must, no matter what you use for a grip. Will also give you some room to attach a QD Sling Mount. I used a Magpul RSA QD attachment with a Uncle Mikes 2-Point Sling.

Gives a little more meat to grab on smaller stocked rifles like OP's, and more leverage when run-n-gunning. Taller ones can be used as a monopod, and then there's the GripPod as others have suggested.

A grip pod is quite bulky compared to standard VFGs. It is also a very poor bipod for a precision rifle. My recommendation would be a AFG or VFG and a good shooting sling for hunting. You can be just as accurate with a sling as you can with a grippod and you're likely to need one on the rifle to carry it anyways.
