I just bought a tikka magnum action And want to make a 300 win mag
I heard bugholes is the best place to get a barrel fast my question is do you guys recomend adding a ground recoil lug? And who would be the best to thread it for my action and chamber it

Another question is I know manners makes custom inlet stocks if I did get the recoul lug would the be able to cut it for my action or would that have to be done at a custom shop

When you say "Tikka Magnum", are you talking about a Tikka T3 in a "magnum caliber"?  If so, the T3's recoil lug is actually a separate piece from the barrel/receiver and it sits in the stock, engaging a notch in the barrel/action when the two are mated. McMillan includes this recoil lug in their Tikka inlet stocks (I have a T3 in a McMillan A5) and I believe Manners does the same. You can also buy higher quality, aftermarket steel lugs (the OEM lugs are aluminum and not what I would want on a magnum, for sure) and most companies that make stocks/chassis for the T3 will at least have a slot for the lug, so far as I know. As for the barrel and smith/shop questions, I would defer to those here who have more experience in that department, but I hope the recoil lug info is at least of some use to you.

Best of luck!
